A private bridge to your VPN.
Snarkypuss is privately hosted, open-source software for building and controlling your own bridge to a commercial VPN service. Your computer connects through a private WireGuard tunnel to a small hosted server you control, and the commercial VPN runs there instead of on your machine.
There is no Snarkypuss company, subscription, or central network carrying anyone's traffic. Each installation belongs to its user.
A 16-page introduction: what Snarkypuss is, why it exists, what it does not claim to do, and how it is put together. Written for readers deciding whether it is worth doing, rather than for whoever will install it.
The legal and policy sections reflect Canadian legislation as of 17 September 2026. Later editions will carry a later date in the filename.
Setting Snarkypuss up takes some technical knowledge: a hosted virtual server of your own, and an account with a supported commercial VPN provider. The source, documentation and installation instructions are on GitHub.
